MORE THAN A RESOLUTION

And the clock struck 12, revealing the beginning of another phase in the lives of the ones bound by time. Screams rent the air, joyful, gleeful, uncertain of the future, uncertain of their lives, yet enjoying every moment the new year brings
It’s a new year once again. A  New year always comes with new hopes. A lot of people would have at the end of the previous year taken an inventory of their lives(I took an inventory)and discovered areas where they are found wanting and then resolve to change or amend. Thus, there’s going to be a lot of New Year resolutions flying around.

 (Which is not bad. I’m really up for a fresh start), after all the sweatiness of the past year. However,  it’s common knowledge that many of these new year resolutions usually don’t outlast at best the first three months. This is because we make resolutions like;
I want to get married this year;
I want to stop lying this
I don’t want this year to pass on without getting a car.

If you are a little spiritual, we add God to the list however the theme song is still the same I WANT like we can get it all by ourselves.
 A lot of us right from the beginning of the year develop the parasitic mindset where we devise how to get all and give little or nothing, then at the end of the year we can go to the churches with our self centred lists celebrating and asking friends to celebrate with us because it could only be God…
There’s a reason our self centred resolutions do not hold water or when they do they don’t go beyond three months and its because;
By its very nature its self centred
Now I’m not against having desires or expectations because I believe without them, you don’t have a life but then;
why do you want what you want  and how badly do you want it?
While making all your new year resolutions, why don’t you make them with purpose instead of making vague and selfish resolutions; A resolution with history and purpose has more potential of being realized than just a resolution.
Have more than a resolution this year  HAVE PURPOSE.

For your resolution to be sustained it has to be more than just you alone. Include others, you are not an island, the people around you can make or mar your good fortune. This is not the year to make selfish resolutions. It’s a year to look out for ourselves and others. Most of all include God. Its going to be a deciding year for us as individuals, as people and as a Nation and no one Knows it better than the one who brought you into it. Acknowledge him in all your ways and he shall direct your pathway.
I love you and I wish you the best 2015 which would be spent achieving all your dreams and influencing lives.
Much love @ Cherrylynnspeaks
